Massey Harris Farm Toys

Formed in 1891 by the merger of Massey Manufacturing Co. and A. Harris, Son & Co Ltd - The new company would be called Massey Harris and would be one of the largest tractor manufacturers.

After the merger, Massey-Harris Co. purchased the Johnson Harvester Company in 1910 then went on to merge with Ferguson Company. The new name of the company after 1953 was Massey-Harris-Ferguson and then in 1958 the name was changed yet again and the Massey-Ferguson name was now born.

During the Massey-Harris years a number of tractor models were produced. The first of the Massey-Harris tractors to be built was the General Purpose, which was a 4 wheel drive tractor built long before four wheel drive tractors were ever popular. This first model was simple and production lasted from 1930-1936.

Other notable models included the Massey-Harris Model 20 and Model 30. The last tractor to be built under the Massey Harris name was the Massey-Harris 444. Over 7000 were built between 1956 and 1958.

Following the history of 3 companies to form what we know today as Massey-Ferguson can be fascinating. Whether you buy a single diecast Massey-Harris tractor or all the tractors built by the company, a Massey Harris diecast model is sure to make a great addition to your diecast collection.
